We are a small gaming group that meets online regularly to play our favorite games.
One day one of the guys stopped showing up. No messages, no heads-up, nothing. After some time we began to get worried. We tried getting in touch with anyone online we could find that might know something, without success. Then, about six months later, someone finally managed to get in touch with a family member to our missing friend. Our friend had passed away, unexpectedly.
This was really hard!
We decided to investigate and we discovered that quite a lot of people experience online friends "vanishing" without notice.
This is something we want to prevent from happening and this is what aliveorwhat.com is about.
aliveorwhat.com is run as a nonprofit and privacy-focused project with a worldwide mission to enable friends online to know if something happens (in real life) to any one of the friends.
As a nonprofit project, all income that exceeds expenses is committed to the purpose and survival of the project. We do not use ads and we do not sell users private data to third party companies or organizations.
